C. Certification Committee - Standing Committee

Bylaws, Article VI, Section 2: The Certification Committee shall be responsible for recommending to the Board all new auditor certification programs, any revisions to existing certification programs, qualification standards for certified auditors, oversee staff actions relating to the issuance of certifications, use of the CPEA designation, and other activities relating to certification decisions. The Certification committee is responsible for defining in writing the overall process for the review and approval of certification applications.

General

  • Mission: A Committee appointed by the Board of Directors to define, promote, organize, direct and control the Certified Professional Environmental Auditor program(s).
  • Structure: The Committee is comprised of Certified Professional Environmental, Health and Safety Auditors.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Develop the education, experience, character and other requirements for the BEAC certification programs.
    • Develop criteria for the continuing education program for CPEAs.
    • Promote the designation "Certified Professional Environmental, Health and Safety Auditor" as the "Global Mark of Excellence in Environmental Auditing."
    • Review all applications which have been forwarded by the Certification Administrator to determine if applicant meets required qualification criteria and present recommendations to the Board for action.
    • In conjunction with the Examination Committee, make recommendations to the Board regarding criteria and categories to be tested on certification examinations.
